LED walls and Videowalls
The Van Gogh Museum has been working with Summit DIS for its Digital Signage solutions since 2006. The implemented solution supports visitor flow management, helps reduce waiting times and ensures that visitors from many different countries are informed in a clear and engaging way.
In 2023, the museum underwent a complete facelift, which also included a major renewal of its digital communication. As part of this transformation, Summit DIS installed new videowall setups at all cloakrooms, information desks and hospitality areas. The screens within these setups display fully synchronized content, creating a powerful and visually consistent experience.
At the entrance, four 1 x 1 metre LED screens were also installed. The centrepiece of the renewed entrance area is an impressive LED wall measuring 5 metres wide and 10 metres high, built from 100 individual LED cabinets. The rear of this structure is also equipped with a 5 x 5 metre LED surface, allowing content to be displayed towards Museumplein.
All displays are centrally controlled through the Summit DIS WebCMS and Digital Signage platform. Van Gogh Museum staff can independently manage, schedule and update the content across all screens.
"Since the first implementation of the Summit DIS Digital Signage solution in 2007, it contributes to the proper and efficient guidance of visitor flows inside and outside the Van Gogh Museum. The reliability of the Summit DIS solution is of great importance to us.
Digital Signage & Interactive Visitor Experience
Summit DIS has been working with Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen since 2000, delivering digital signage solutions that combine technology, content and visitor experience.
For Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, Summit DIS supplied the hardware and developed the dynamic content for the videowall installation at the entrance. Based on the visual design created by our partner SILO, the content combines multiple dynamic elements and is built around integrations with Recreatex and the IN10 CMS.
Throughout the Depot, Summit DIS also installed ten interactive touchscreen displays where visitors can browse a selection of videos and choose the content they want to watch. Visitors can select either Dutch or English, creating an accessible experience for both national and international audiences.
Kiosk solution for efficient queue management
BENU Pharmacies has been using the Summit DIS kiosk solution for queue management across its pharmacies since 2015.
The kiosks function as ticketing systems and support the efficient handling of visitor flows within the pharmacy. An important part of the solution is the integration with the MML pharmacy information system. This allows the queue management process to connect directly with existing pharmacy workflows and enables customer flows to be handled in an efficient and fully integrated way.
The kiosk solution is now in use in more than 230 BENU locations. Through an extensive real-time management information module, BENU gains insight into visitor numbers, waiting times and customer flow patterns. This information supports the analysis of peak periods and provides valuable input for optimising staff planning.
Thanks to centralised management and the integration with MML, BENU has a scalable and reliable queue management solution that is fully aligned with the day-to-day operations of its pharmacies.
"The user-friendly interface of the Summit DIS WebCMS ensures a high level of acceptance with our Marketing Communications department and local pharmacists. The extensive management information from the Queue Management Solution helps us to further optimize the "pharmacy visit" for our customers."
Automated wayfinding and relevant guest information
Since 2025, Summit DIS has been responsible for the digital information solution at TivoliVredenburg. Content is managed across a total of 80 displays throughout the venue, including 20 screens specifically dedicated to dynamic wayfinding.
A key element of the solution is the integration with Salesforce. Event information is retrieved automatically and used to guide visitors to the correct halls and floors in a clear and visually engaging way. The same integration also powers other screen positions throughout the building, where relevant event posters and related programme content are displayed.
The hospitality information is also dynamically integrated. Through a connection with MPlus, up-to-date food and beverage prices are retrieved automatically and displayed on screens in the various halls.
By combining multiple data sources in one central solution, TivoliVredenburg benefits from a largely automated system in which current programme, wayfinding and hospitality information is shown at the right time and in the right place. Summit DIS was responsible for the technical implementation of the solution, with the wayfinding realised based on the design created by our partner SILO.
"Our collaboration with Summit DIS has been excellent. Their proactive approach and clear communication have been key to its success. Whenever something needs to be adjusted, it is addressed immediately and thoroughly analysed."
A lift ride guests won’t forget
At DoubleTree by Hilton, the experience starts in the lift. Together with the hotel, Summit DIS turned an ordinary lift car into something special: the walls are fitted with displays that take guests into an atmospheric, moving world during their ride, as if the lift were gently floating up through the clouds.
Started automatically by the lift itself
Thanks to an integration with the KONE elevator system, the lift experience starts automatically as soon as the doors close. No action is needed from staff or guests: on every ride, the show begins at exactly the right moment.
The result is a surprising and memorable moment for every guest, perfectly in keeping with the warm hospitality DoubleTree by Hilton is known for. A fine example of how Digital Signage, smart integrations and creative content come together to bring a space to life.
Corporate Communication and Wayfinding
Summit DIS has been working with the City of Rotterdam since 2013. The collaboration began with the implementation of Digital Signage and wayfinding in De Rotterdam, the iconic building designed by Rem Koolhaas, which is also home to the Rotterdam City Council.
What started as a solution for corporate communication and wayfinding in De Rotterdam has since expanded significantly. Summit DIS solutions are now also used in the Timmerhuis and at various other municipal locations throughout the city.
Today, the complete installation comprises more than 180 screens, used for internal and external communication, room guidance and visitor information.
In addition to the technical implementation, the Summit DIS Content team has supported the City of Rotterdam’s Communications department with the setup, development and implementation of content.
Smart meeting rooms and Digital Signage
At 2Amsterdam, the office and hotel complex in Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district, Summit DIS has fitted out 15 meeting rooms together with our partner Avesqo since 2021. Alongside this, Summit DIS provides the Digital Signage in the common areas, keeping visitors and users well informed throughout the building.
Automatically connected to Microsoft 365
Reservations are fetched automatically from Microsoft 365, so a booking in the calendar shows up straight away on the display at the door, with no double administration. The information is always up to date.
The result is a modern workplace where meetings run smoothly and everyone can see at once which room is available.
