Our Digital Signage products are not only developed based on the latest technologies, but also on existing, widely accepted (industry) standards. Our engineering team not only specializes in designing and developing new products, but also in further enhancing functionalities within existing hardware & software environments.

The Summit DIS Digital Signage software solutions are user-friendly, intuitive, self-explanatory and responsive. Upon customer request and after consultation we can additionally add customer-specific functionalities, designs, constructions and implementations.

What is Digital Signage?

Digital Signage (or narrowcasting) is a digital communication medium that enables you to display dynamic content on all types and formats of displays. Inside as well as outdoor and at any user-desired moment. A Digital Signage solution is based on a user environment, a WebCMS (a web-application) and hardware players for content play-out.

Within the WebCMS user environment content is created, scheduled and sent to the relevant players. The players ensure that the content is shown correct  These players are linked to displays or other AV equipment.

Digital Signage? narrowcasting

The market for 'display communication' has many names and synonyms, including; Digital Signage, Digital Out Of Home (DOOH), Narrowcasting.

The applications are most of the time similar; at specific times and specific locations, informing, approaching and / or ‘tempting & triggering’ the audience by using digital displays.

The software part of the Summit DIS Digital Signage Solution is a cloud-based ‘WebCMS’. We provide the hosting and conduct a continuous quality check of your own Digital Signage environment. Needless to say that you are able to easily manage, control and (you’re your request) send new content via any device (PC, Tablet, Smart Phone,...) to all of you connected digital displays.

The moment a user logs into the WebCMS the respective person will directly see his or her 'personalized' dashboard. Here the main and most important functionalities are available via ’short-cut buttons’. Also the current status of the players including their scheduled ‘playlist(s)’  is shown. By using created and pre-selected templates all the pages are compiled.

The web interface will ensure that all additions and changes are send directly to the designated screens and will be displayed on the right (pre-set) times. This is arranged / realized via the professional Scheduler. It provides an easy way to 'broadcast' or plan your play-out moments.

The login for the WebCMS is protected by a username & password setting. The environment which is logged onto is protected via an SSL certificate (https:) which makes sure that all information is exchanged securely. Our solution has got the A+ security rating, a level comparable to that of banks.

In addition to our Cloud based solution of the central operating environment of the WebCMS, we can also implement the software as an On-Premise installation within your own network.

To properly display your Digital Signage content in high quality, dedicated players are required. Based on the latest industry standards we have developed our BluePlayer (I²U-Blue). With our 'Pixel to Pixel' control the content is always displayed in the correct ratio. In other words; There is no re-scaling as is often the case with standard PC solutions. Thus, optimal image quality is realized and guaranteed.

In addition to the standalone version, which can be connected to any screen, we also supply an OPS (Open Pluggable Specification) version. The unit is placed in an OPS slot of a display and is there for integrated in that specific display. OPS is the first industrial standard for Digital Signage applications, with the main feature being the interchangeability of different systems. This results in lower cost for hardware development and deployment, but also in lower energy consumption, less environmental impact and thus a greatly reduced Total Cost of Ownership of your Digital Signage Network.

On daily basis our experienced Content team is working on content creation, development of new applications and the deployment of media items for the users of our solutions. Upon request we also support our customers in designing, developing and creating their own  content. We support our customers both during the setup and launch of a specific Digital Signage network and the during the period the network is operational.

Uniformity and clear instructions are critical in briefings for new or customized content requests. To further improve and simplify the ‘process of content creation’ we have developed a communication portal called ‘SignConnect’. In this portal all people involved can work flexible, easy and carefree during this process. SignConnect is a s web based solution, enabling the authorized users to review, commenton and approve the content. Logically, the next step in the process will be the direct transferral of the new content (pages) to the designated players / displays and/or added to the WebCMS for future use.

In addition to our Digital Signage Solution, Summit DIS has also developed its own line-up of digital kiosks. These kiosks allow our customers’ visitors, clients or patients to perform simple and intuitive self-service actions. With the deployment of such kiosks waiting times are shortened, processes are accelerated and a higher customer satisfaction is achieved. By deploying our kiosks you will give your clients, guests and visitors a pleasant and easy way to access product & company information, available services and loyalty programs. The kiosks can also be used as easy way to distribute brochures digitally.

The Summit DIS’ kiosks come with advanced 'Queueing / Queue management software' which enables the user to monitor the occupation rate of its staff and, if desired, further optimize their staffplanning.

Summit DIS’ Kiosks can be deployed  as:

  • 'Ticketing system'
    • Automatic ticket number dispenser
    • Extensive real-time management information
  • Digital Signage
  • Wayfinding
    •  Roadmap printing
  • Product information
  • Point of Sale
    • Including order handling
    • Feedback from customers on purchases made
  • Digital brochures
    • Including distribution
  • .....

In & Output of the kiosks can be realized through various hardware options, such as 2D scanning, printing, NFC, IBeacon, RFID, MSR (Magnetic Stripe Reading) etc.

Based on intelligent and interactive links, dynamic information from the Digital Signage Environment (displays) can be shared with the  information on the kiosks and vice versa.
